Seniors like to have FUN
for no special reason... seniors have earned
that right! Our programs can be all encompassing... and new
ideas continually emerge from the members.
Let's take a look at some of the Fun
programs that are running now or arebeing devised and revised
daily:
Drop-in activities for seniors at the Silverton Senior Center are fun activities that include cards and games including social gaming, bingo, bridge, cribbage, pinochle and board games.
FUN with Ukulele, led by Trish Jenkins, is scheduled for every Thursday at 4:00PM. $4 per Session. Registration required! Check with the SSC Front Desk for confirmation.
Writer’s Corner, where the story begins. Self-authored stories, such as autobiographies, are of much interest with seniors. Seniors have a story or two to tell. Just ask a senior. Stories can be told by others for you... ghost-authored stories... biographies or autobiographies... depending. Stories can be told verbally... tape recorded, video-recorded audio... and then transcribed and edited into text writings. FRIDAYS @ 2:30PM - FREE!
The Silverton Senior Center currently sponsors "art" classes. Check out our offerings such as "Cartooning" on Wednesday, and "Painting" and "Drawing" on Friday.
Color Bowl Gardening, 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Wednesdays at the Silverton Senior Center; Color Bowl Gardening is provided by Wilco of Silverton; Learn what and how to put together beautiful gardening ideas. Class is FREE
The Computer. The computer can do amazing things if it is properly "programmed". The things that you can do with or by a computer may not be sex(y), but they can be right smart.
How to learn to speak Spanish. How can I say it in Spanish? What language do you speak? Can you help me learn Spanish? Silverton Seniors can now learn to speak Spanish.
