Mission
Statement
Our goal is to meet
the social, recreational and educational needs of members in a fun, safe, inclusive and courteous
environment.
BULLYING
SASI defines bullying
as: Systematically and chronically inflicting physical harm or psychological distress on one or more
employees or members. It is further defined as unwanted and repeated written, verbal, or physical behavior,
including any threatening, insulting, or dehumanizing gesture that is severe enough to create an
intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment; cause discomfort or humiliation; or unreasonably interfere
with the individual’s participation in the center’s activities.
Bullying will not be tolerated or permitted in SASI.
A member who feels
bullied may report it to the Executive Director, who will investigate the incident or
incidents. Depending on the severity of the bullying, the director will determine the
appropriate corrective action.
SASI will not retaliate against you for filing a complaint or
cooperating in an investigation and will not tolerate or permit retaliation by
members.
Retaliation is broadly construed and includes conduct, such as,changing their volunteer duties, treating a member rudely, etc. Members should bring complaints of retaliation to the
attention of the Executive Director or Board of Directors. These types of complaints will also be promptly investigated
and a member or employee found to have retaliated against a member will be subject to appropriate action,
depending on the circumstances, up to and including loss of membership.
