CODE OF CONDUCT

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Mission Statement

Our goal is to meet the social, recreational and educational needs of members in a fun, safe, inclusive and courteous environment.

To meet this goal, it is imperative that everyone treat each other and the center with respect. The following Code of Conduct was developed to assist in the achievement of this goal.

Any person committing an illegal act at the Senior Center, (e.g., theft, assault) will automatically be expelled from the facility and face possible arrest and prosecution.

Misuse or abuse of property will result in corrective action and possible prosecution.

Violent, objectionable, or inappropriate behavior (included but not limited to the following) will result in corrective action.

  • Physical or verbal abuse directed at users or staff
  • Harassment or bullying (see attached policy on Harassment/Bullying)
  • Aggressively loud or rude language, including profanity, vulgarity, or explicit sexual language.
  • Illegal gambling
  • Solicitation

 

Any alleged violation will be recorded by the Executive Director on an Incident Report Form. It will be filed for future reference.

PROCEDURE

The Silverton Area Seniors, Inc. corrective action process is:

  • The individual may be required to leave the center immediately as directed by the Executive Director or his/her representative.
  • The individual may be subject to appropriate corrective action, depending on the circumstances, up to and including loss of membership.

It is strongly recommended that anyone with knowledge of above violations, report offenses to the Executive Director or Board President. SASI will not tolerate or permit retaliation by any employee or member.
