Leisure-time and education for seniors at the Silverton Senior Center are fun activity classes that include making cookbook recipes, doing photo activities, scrapbooking, crafts of all kinds, soap carving, music such as guitar and ukulele lessons, going on local trips, bus travels, local event participation, cruises, networking with other members, working computers including math, writing, shooting videos, connecting on social networks, doing video interviews, learning stage production and archiving, dealing with smart phone and tablet devices, learning Spanish, building a family tree with genealogy programs, authoring stories and transcribing interivews... and games.
Our greatest resource at the Silverton Senior Center is the help provided by our volunteers who work for the benefit of all seniors. Volunteers have fun helping at the front desk, with the phone, in food prepration and serving, in cleanup activities, gardening, building maintenance, working at outdoor events and at Center social events... and in holding volunteer positions on the Board.
